In this book, by referring to the developments in writing theory, research and teaching, Professor Monjurul Alam provides an authoritative guide to implementing the Writing-as-a-Process Approach for overcoming the obstacles the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) learners in Bangladesh struggle with. Adopting a qualitative research approach the author presents thematic secondary data analysis with a view to unfolding the issues that obstruct the progress of Undergraduate level learners of EFL/ESL writing courses in Bangladesh and shows how the integration of the Process-Approach may bring qualitative changes in their writing behaviour and help them develop expertise in L2 writing. Monjurul Alam is an Associate Professor of English and Linguistics at the Institute of Modern Languages, University of Chittagong, Chattogram, Bangladesh. He completed his Undergraduate and Graduate programs in English and studied Applied Linguistics at York University, Canada. While doing his M.A. thesis at York, he became interested in the field of Second Language Writing (ESL Writing) and later on published a few research articles on Expertise in EFL/ESL Writing.
